PGA TOUR Wives Inagural “Game Show Night at the Valero Texas Open” Fundraiser

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Long before Sunday’s final-round nerves got to last week’s Valero Texas Open champion Charley Hoffman, he was stressed – in a good way – about something entirely different. At the first-ever “Game Show Night presented by the PGA TOUR,” there were natural questions; Would it succeed? Would the TOUR players and their wives have fun? Would anyone buy a ticket to watch and help raise money for charity? For TOUR players, the real mind-bender was whether or not their answers in the TV game shows would be suitable to their better half. Both literally and figuratively, the stars aligned on more than one occasion and delivered a resounding “Yes” to each question.

2015 Wiffle Ball Classic presented by Krispy Kreme Donuts

November 17, 2015

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, GA – – The fourth annual PGA TOUR Wives Association Wiffle Ball Classic presented by Krispy Kreme and the RSM Classic needed extra innings to provide what many called the most dramatic conclusion in the event’s history. As in the past, the event featured PGA TOUR players squaring off against their wives, with local students from Altama Elementary School rounding out the other half of each team. Children from the school earned a spot on the team through their Positive Behavior Initiative and Support program. The event was a huge success and raised $25,000 for the school’s Blessing in a Backpack program.

PHOENIX-  On January 27, members of the PGA TOUR Wives Association took on TPC Scottsdale’s Champions Course in a nine-hole scramble benefiting several charities, including “Blessings in a Backpack” programs in Phoenix.

With Super Bowl XLIX being contested at the University of Phoenix Stadium the same week as the Waste Management Phoenix Open, the friendly, shoot-out featured a football theme, with PGA TOUR pros “on the bag,” serving as caddies for their spouses.

“Blessings in a Backpack” is a national program which provides elementary schoolchildren on the federal Free and Reduced Price Meal Program with a backpack of food to take home on weekends during the school year.

“ Unforgettable. That’s how the wives and girlfriends felt Tuesday at TPC Sawgrass as their husbands shortened their practice sessions for THE PLAYERS Championship this week to carry the clubs of their “better halves” in celebration of the PGA TOUR Wives Association’s Golf Classic at Dye’s Valley. A portion of proceeds from Tuesday’s event will be donated to Community PedsCare and the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund.”
